BROCKHAMPTON Kicks Out Ameer Vann Amidst Sexual Misconduct Allegations

BROCKHAMPTON cancels the remainder of your dates after sexual misconduct allegations against former group member Ameer Vann arise.

On May 27th, 2018, members of the rap group, BROCKHAMPTON, publicly announced that singer-songwriter, Ameer Vann, would no longer be a part of the then 14 member team. The response comes from multiple allegations against Ameer Vann of sexual misconduct.

“I’ve been in relationships where I’ve fucked up and disrespected my partners. I’ve cheated and been dismissive to my exes,” – Ameer Vann

Fans had been speculating about Vann’s current status with BROCKHAMPTON after video footage of the group surfaced of them performing without Vann and being silent during Vann’s verses.

Ameer Vann is an original member of BROCKHAMPTON, which formed in 2015 on the online forum KanyeToThe. His picture is featured on the cover of all three albums in their 2017 SATURATION trilogy release.

Because of Vann’s misconduct some fans are calling for a change in said album covers, even taking the liberty to change the cover art themselves.

On May 12, singer songwriter and Ameer Vann’s former girlfriend, Rhett Rowan, revealed in a series of tweets that Vann was “emotionally manipulative and mentally abusive” later accusing him of sexual misconduct with a minor (he had sex with a 17 year old when he was 18).

Other Twitter users, @GIGlNOTHADID and @tayallard, also claimed similar sentiments although those tweets were deleted for legal reasons.

“In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: Although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody’s consent.”

Ameer Vann took to Twitter in a series of tweets explaining:

“I’ve been in relationships where I’ve fucked up and disrespected my partners. I’ve cheated and been dismissive to my exes,”

“In response to the claims of emotional and sexual abuse: Although my behavior has been selfish, childish, and unkind, I have never criminally harmed anyone or disrespected their boundaries. I have never had relations with a minor or violated anybody’s consent.”

These tweets were also deleted.

Group Member, Kevin Abstract, felt that fans deserved an explanation. He got on Instagram Live explaining that he does not agree with anything Ameer’s had admitted to and that Ameer had been seeking help over the past year.

Kevin Abstract was also in the group, AliveSinceForever, with Ameer Vann and Dom McLennon before BROCKHAMPTON.

BROCKHAMPTON recently signed a deal with RCA Records; their new album, Puppy, is due in June.
