Backstage in the TV/radio room at the 62nd GRAMMY Awards, Tyler, The Creator shared his thoughts on winning ‘Best Rap Album‘ for ‘IGOR‘.

“It sucks that whenever we — guys that look like me — make anything that is genre bending… they put us in the rap or urban category, and I don’t like that urban word. It’s just a politically correct way to say the N-word to me…”

Although grateful for the recognition, Tyler’s sentiments echo many black recording artists in his new Grammy family. This is how you use a win to educate.
